Your new Lexus has an advanced safety system that helps to keep you and your passengers safe. This system has been awarded the “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). These safety features are standard on every Lexus, and additional systems are available depending on your model. As your Lexus dealership, we want to tell you more about some of these features.

From Your Lexus Dealership: 5 Advanced Safety Features in the 2025 Lexus Lineup

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

Cruise control allows you to set your speed and following distance. Your Lexus will continue at that speed until you intervene or another vehicle is detected. The radar will identify the vehicle and calculate the distance to it. If it slows down, this system will reduce your speed to maintain the preset following distance. It operates at a speed of 45 mph or less.

Lane Departure Warning with Steering Assist

This system uses a camera to identify the lane line markings. Once the markings are identified, Lane Departure will keep your Lexus centered in its lane. If the system detects you’re headed toward the lane boundary, a warning alert will sound, and Steering Assist will turn your wheel to direct you back into your lane. This system temporarily deactivates if your direction indicator is on and you’re actively changing lanes.

Road Sign Assist

This feature uses a small camera to identify road signs and speed limitations. It ensures you’ll never miss a speed restriction or other important information, as an image of the sign will appear on your front screen. This allows you to decide if you need to take action.

Automatic High Beams

This system helps keep you and other drivers safe at night. You need high beams in the dark for enhanced visibility, but they can also blind other drivers. Sensors are installed in the lights and can identify the headlights or tail lights from other vehicles. If lights are detected, the system automatically switches to low beams. Once the light source has left the sensor range, your lights revert to high beams.

Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection

This feature uses a camera and radar to watch for vehicles, pedestrians, or animals ahead of you. If anything is identified, the radar determines the distance to the object and compares this to your current speed. If the system determines there’s a risk of an accident, you’ll receive visual and audio warnings. These warnings rise in intensity if the distance continues to close.

If you don’t take evasive action or hit the brakes, the system will initiate hard braking to stop your Lexus. This rapid braking can prevent an accident or reduce the damage.
